Plate In My Head

This song was inspired by Randy Quaid’s character, “Cousin Eddie,” in the movie “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” It’s one of my favorite movies. We watch it every year during the Christmas season.

This is a solo, acoustic guitar/vocal version of the tune. I’ll probably add electric guitars and drums eventually, and really rock it out.

When I finally finish lunch I sometimes have to shave

Cause I can never stand too close to a microwave

Last time that I tried I slipped and pissed my pants

I thought my name was Lance and that I grew up in France

    I went into a trance

I’ve got a plate in my head and my brain’s filled with lead

A present from my long-lost friend named Charlie

I’ve got a plate in my head and my brain’s filled with lead

That’s how my handsome face became so gnarly

When I want to watch T.V. I never have to pay

Just plug me in and I get satellite signals all day

And I can never fly I always have to drive

Their x-rays come alive and all that jive

Don’t want the plane to dive
